Thanksgiving Week

I am Thankful

I am thankful for waking up,

for the cold fall breeze

mixed with the warmth of the sun.

For being able to bear a child,

to raise her and teach her

makes my life worthwhile.

I am thankful for family, friend

and acquaintances alike,

being out of the claws of loneliness

makes me feel alive.

I am thankful for being given

a chance to live and to mourn,

I am also thankful for my parents

who gave me the chance to be born.
